The difference between our Hi-Line shirt and all others is a our custom fabric – as you already know we don’t buy stock fabric. We start with Montana grown Helle Rambouillet merino (softness and stretch), and blend it with domestic polyester to reduce weight and add more loft. We build a modified fleece knit on the inside and smooth finish on the outside. The knitting and finishing of this fabric is complex; we make only a limited quantity every year.

Soft, warm and surprisingly light with a smooth exterior finish, the shirt is brushed the inside and has slight stretch. Relaxed fit is designed to be worn as an overshirt.

SKU: DW10639 Categories: , , ,

Over-shirt style fit with button front and button cuffs. Two chest pockets, hanger loop, woven label. Made in USA with Montana grown Merino wool.

100% Helle Rambouillet Merino wool exterior, 100% fine brushed Polyester interior. Spot clean as needed. Dry clean only recommended.

Have had the opportunity to get my new Hi-line shirt out and about and wanted to shoot a quick review. For the sake of being helpful, I’ll address fit first. I’m a 5’6” male, short of torso and arm length, but wide of shoulder/chest. Getting shirts to fit that don’t look like I’m wearing my big brothers clothes has always been tough. I chose the size small and it is right on. Particularly the sleeve length and overall length at the back. Not too long on either account. Things I like – so far I can’t really believe it how warm it is. I own 12 (for real, I just counted) Pendleton shirts of various vintages and weights. This shirt is as warm as the old school thick Pendleton’s for sure. I love the fact that the sleeves are nice and narrow / tapered. Fits great over a tee and also layers over a thick cotton or light wool shirt. The oversized buttons are a great touch. Kind of harkens back to a Navy Peacoat. The top button below the collar is situated higher than most shirts; lets you keep the wind out nicely. Anyhow – great so far. I’m known to ruin collars with my facial hair, so only time will tell how this survives. Looking forward to beating it up some more.

Received my Hi-Line a little bit ago – wanted to say thanks to Duckworth for a really killer piece. Sizing is a bit tough to decipher, but the customer service folks were super helpful in sending measurements of the shirt for me to compare to others that I have. For the sake of argument – I’m a 5’6″ male, short torso, yet wide shoulders and short arms – fit for shirts is often a struggle. Many look like I’m wearing my big brothers shirt…So, ordered the small. Totally awesome fit for my build. Hope this helps others. As to the shirt…I actually can’t believe how warm it is. I just counted, I own 12 pendleton wool shirts of various weights and vintages and this thing is warmer than even the old school heavy Pendleton shirts I have. Being Merino – no itch factor at all. I’ll also shout out on some stylish details – love the oversized buttons. Kind of nods to a Navy p- coat. The top button (before the collar) is actually placed higher up the shirt than many shirts – nice touch in blocking wind and adding to the cozy factor. Also love the sleeves – both the length (which is perfect, not too long) but more importantly, the slimness of them all the way to the cuff. Anyhow – great work, thanks!!!

Best wool shirt out there!! I live in this Shirt From September through April here in North Dakota. The fit is second to none, and the fact I can wear it Hunting in the morning and out to Dinner in the evening with my wife is a plus. Every time I wear this shirt I get compliments. Kudos on a great product.

This wool shirt is durable and well made in the US. It ranks up there with any other wool shirts out there. The deciding factor was the transparent business model. I’ve asked other wool companies what their wool source is and it was a secret…. Thanks to the Montana sheep and the American wool industry, we can have awesome products like this. Great for the fireline and in the Boundary Waters.

I loved the quality and feel of the shirt, but unfortunately I had to return it. I have an athletic build, and the shirt was just way too baggy on me. I hope Duckworth will consider making a slimmer version next year.
