After wearing the WoolCloud Full Zip Jacket you'll never want another traditional down or synthetic-puff jacket. Why? When down (which is made from bird feathers) gets wet it becomes a mushy ball, and when synthetic fillers get wet and worn down they become increasingly compressed, providing less insulation. On the other hand, the Duckworth WoolCloud Jacket is filled with a Merino Wool batting which never loses its loft and insulation and stays warm when wet. Remarkably lightweight and boasting a nylon water-resistant shell, this Merino Wool jacket also features a paneled hood, two large insulated hand pockets, two large mesh inside pockets (perfect for a phone) and a full zip front. The finished product is a versatile, warm, durable, breathable, sport-fit Merino Wool jacket that stands up to whatever Mother Nature throws at you. Toss on the WoolCloud Full Zip Jacket when the rain starts going sideways and you're guaranteed to stay warm and dry until the clouds part. American-made with Montana wool, this men's jacket is available in multiple colors.

WOOLCLOUD - Merino Wool jacket and vest outer layers

Our WoolCloud Merino Wool jacket and vest line is a solution unlike any other on the market, harnessing the warmth and loft of Merino Wool for a jacket material insulation. Long gone are the days of water-logged bird feathers (down) and jackets losing their shape being scrunched into a bag. Water resistant and versatile beyond comprehension, a WoolCloud jacket packs down the size of a football,  taking up little room in a pack or Merino layering system for those needing brutal efficiency and comfort.

Awesome jacket!

"Love how light weight and warm this jacket is. I use it every day when going work at 3am when it's 20 degrees and even in 50 degrees it's not too warm."

"It’s not really that warm. I had really high hopes of retirng my north face 600 fill synthetic jacket. Still i am going to keep this. I like the look and will just need to layer accordingly knowing what I know know. It almost feels like a very nice fall jacket. The good thing is it feels breathable so i wont overheat like i do in synthetic jackets. Fit: The Medium is excellent as a 5’8 165-170lbs individual; Small was definitely too small."

Best Hoodie I’ve Ever Owned

"This is my 3rd woolcloud full zip hoodie, and they are great. The only reason I gave a 4 star is, because I have size large for my first 2, and when I ordered my 3rd size large in spruce, it was tight fitting and shorter in the arm length. I sent the large spruce color back for a refund which is fast, and ordered an XL in shale. The XL is just a little loose in the chest and waist, and the arms fit like a large. Other than the fit these are still my favorite hoodie."

Already my favorite winter coat.

"Wanted a new everyday winter coat suitable for the Philadelphia area. Warmth, simple timeless style, and made in USA were my boxes to check. Love the jacket after just a couple weeks. High quality, amazingly lightweight, and warm. I love how the wool isn't puffy like down or synthetics. I suspect I will be a repeat customer. Oh, and the size swap was very easy as I bought too small the first time."

Love it!

"This jacket is truly amazing!!! It is very lightweight yet toasty warm. Always nice to have a hood on those unexpected windy, cold, or rainy days."

"Absolutely love this jacket! Customer service is fantastic!"

Blake B. (5/5)

Great fit and feel

"I ordered the Large size, but was a bit worried about the fit since I am shorter and chubbier than average. It turned out not to be a problem, and it fits great."

M. C. (5/5)

Very nice

"This thing is even nicer than I thought. Interested to see how it holds up. First impression is that I really like it. Very warm and not bulky or noisy."

Perfect for the Southeast

"I've been a long time wearer of the Arcteryx Atom jacket. I was such a fan of that jacket, that I was on my second one in 15 years. I'm always on the lookout for American made, and came across Duckworth. I'm thrilled I did because this WoolCloud Jacket is better than the Arcteryx Atom in warmth and comfort. The hood fits my head much better to keep in heat, the sleeves stay snug around the wrists during activities, and the pockets are deeper and warmer. The WoolCloud is by far my new favorite jacket. I've already worn it in temps in the 20s on some Appalachian trail hikes in VA and day to day in the 30-50s here in SC. The price point is comparable to everything else on the market as well. The value is superb. I purchased a Large. I'm 5'11'" and 170lbs. The fit is perfect for me. Well done on an excellent American made product"

Q&A

Please excuse me, I don’t mean to be rude, but yall need better reviews. These intro videos talk a little about the wool used. That’s cool. I want to see the jacket worn. I want to see the pockets, the hood, the back, front & sides. I want to hear it, smell it, feel it and see it all through your video. Give me the best understanding you can of the product. Don’t force me to spend a lot of money before that’s achieved. If a customer spends the money and gets something negative they don’t expect they’re more likely to be upset. I don’t want to be surprised except for the surprise in better quality than expected. I don’t want to buy and realize, oh dang the pockets don’t zip, or the hood barely reaches my forehead. Good luck! (This is not a question so feel free to delete. I just wanted to give some feedback)
Thanks for sending this in, Jared! This doesn't come across rude at all, and we appreciate you taking the time to write this out and send it our way. After reading this and seeing the customer's view on these descriptor videos, it seems there are some other key pieces of information and visuals we can include to make these even more beneficial to someone browsing. I will personally bring this up on our weekly team meeting and ideate a solution for you. Thanks again for sending this in!
When are these coming back? The website is advertising them but none available and it starting to get down into the mid 30s already where we are at.
Hi Duncan, We should see these hit the site early November, if not end of October. These will be heading to our warehouse in about a week's time and need to be checked in at our warehouse before they are restocked on the site.
What temperature is this rated for or works well? Some coats tote a certain temperature, do you?
We don't have a set certain temperature, but our entire team lives in Montana, and every single one us uses it as a go-to jacket in the winter. It gets down to minus 30 no problem for at least a few days to weeks in the winter, and we grab the WoolCloud Jacket. Of course, layering well always plays a part in ultimate comfort.
What is the total weight of the jacket?
Thanks for the question, Andy! The jacket in a Medium is 14.8oz, the L weighs in at 15.2oz, and the XL weighs in at 16.0oz
howdy, what is the total weight of this jacket? I am comparing it to the Patagonia Nanoair at 401g and the Arcteryx atom at 370g
Thanks for your question, Dan! Our Wool cloud Jacket in a medium weighs in at 14.8oz, while the L weighs in at 15.2oz, and the XL at 16oz. We use an 80gsm USA-made wool batting for the insulation
