Two welt hand pockets and one inside chest pocket. The lightweight and packable WoolCloud insulation makes this an all-season performer. Layer under a winter weight coat for a cushion of warm, wool insulated protection – or wear as light wind protection with a layer underneath.
The difference between our Hi-Line shirt and all others is a our custom fabric – as you already know we don’t buy stock fabric. We start with Montana grown Helle Rambouillet merino (softness and stretch), and blend it with domestic polyester to reduce weight and add more loft. We build a modified fleece knit on the inside and smooth finish on the outside. The knitting and finishing of this fabric is complex; we make only a limited quantity every year.
Soft, warm and surprisingly light with a smooth exterior finish, the shirt is brushed the inside and has slight stretch. Relaxed fit is designed to be worn as an overshirt.
Take the gaiter one step deeper. Made from our famous Hydro-ply fabric, the microfiber poly inside will quickly wick away warm humid air while the wool outer disperses moisture into the atmosphere. Sounds technical but it simply works great in colder conditions.
The profile of the Montana merino wool is perhaps the best wool in the world for socks. Extremely cold winters, hot summers, high altitude and abundant sunshine grows fine wool with an amazing amount of crimp. Crimp fills our socks yarn with millions of air-trapping, springy, soft and resilient fibers, resulting in one of the best socks in the world.
