Tired of warm, half-frozen mush around your mouth when wearing a gaiter on cold winter days? The Comet Neck Gaiter can help you out, big time. Duckworth's proprietary Comet fabric is natural-technical mash-up, combining a Montana-grown Merino Wool outer layer and a recycled polyester inner layer. Why the combo? Polyester is hydrophobic, meaning it will wick sweat, humid breath, and moisture right off your skin and into the hydrophilic wool layer; wool chemically begins to get even warmer when introduced to water and water vapor, thus explaining why the Comet Neck Gaiter will have your face feeling dry and toasty even in the nastiest, most-humid conditions. By the way, Comet is soft to the touch, perfect for resting on your chin or over your mouth and nose.

Why Duckworth Comet Fabric?

NEW SIZING, FIT & FABRIC INFORMATION: You spoke and we listened - following ample customer feedback, we've increased the front and back lengths on these top-performing Merino Wool base layer crews. Additionally, we've slightly increased the sleeve lengths. We've slightly adjusted the outer-layer material to include 6% nylon for the purpose of adding extra strength to the wool yarn, following feedback from our ranching team the outer layer would occasionally develop holes after rigorous use. Nice and warm

"My favorite neck gaiter, keeps me warm when there’s an extra chill in the air or if I left the house not dressed properly (I always keep this in my jacket pocket). I’ve bought multiple!"

"Another great product, I started wearing this when the temperature drops below freezing and I am on a run. Better than other brands in my opinion and way better than army issue neck gaitors"

Great way to keep warm!

"This gaiter does a great job of keeping my face warm & really wicks the moisture away. I searched far & wide to find a product that is wool and also made in the USA, this fits the bill! I wish it was a few inches longer though."

Michael L. (4/5)

Not complicated

"This thing is pretty much what you’d expect. The fabric is nice. It’s gonna frost up on you but anything like this will it’s breathable and light enough to wear continuously when you are out in the elements."

Ted M. (5/5)

Great gaiter

"Very soft and warm. I mostly use this on the bike and it definitely keeps the wind off my neck in colder weather."

Q&A

What is the length and width of the Comet neck gaiter?
14 in by 9 7/8 in
What is the difference between the comet and the Maverick gaiter?
The Maverick material is 100% wool and the Comet material is 50% wool and 50% polyester. The Comet is also quite a bit thicker compared to the Maverick.
I understand that the wool comes from Montana, but is the final product sewn in America or China? I really want to support you and try your stuff, but I'm committed to Made in America, now more than ever. Thanks
All of our garments are sewn and made in America! Nothing is made in China
What is the overall percentage of wool vs. Polyester?
Our Comet fabric is natural-technical mash-up, combining a pure, 100% Montana-grown Merino Wool outer layer and a polyester inner layer. Why the combo? Polyester is hydrophobic, meaning it will wick sweat and moisture right off your skin and into the hydrophilic wool layer; wool chemically begins to get even warmer when introduced to water and water vapor (bonus warmth) before quickly evaporating it off. So technically it's a 50/50 split, the outer is 100% Merino, the inner is poly and that's a deliberate design.
