Expert Craftsmanship of True American Heritage: The journey of each Snowcrest Jacket spans more than four years, meticulously transforming Merino Wool from our very own ranch in Montana into a very limited-quantity garment that reaches the peak of fine wool apparel craftsmanship, a distinction no one in America or the world can claim but Duckworth.
Using state of the art technologies, we have selected the choicest Merino Wool fleece for this rugged garment, forging them into the ultimate, stylish wool multitool: In crafting the Snowcrest Shirt Jacket, we considered the unique demands of the rugged Montana landscape. Built with 22-oz., 710gsm 100% Rambouillet Merino Wool fabric, The Snowcrest Shirt Jac is a veritable heritage piece that provides unparalleled warmth and breathability, all while maintaining a stoic elegance.
American-made in partnership with one of the nation’s oldest woolen mills (dating back to the 18th century), this men’s wool shirt jacket is naturally water, snow and wind resistant. The ideal choice for those hoping to look sharp, even when the elements have other plans. The attention to every detail in this reimagined version of the Snowcrest Shirt Jacket speaks to our commitment to quality and durability, ensuring your garment stands the test of time, just like the American landscape from which it was born.
The addition of two exterior welt pockets, a back pleat for added movement at the center back, and two oversized interior pockets ensure practicality without compromising style.
Crafted with the Montana man in mind, this wool shirt jacket is just as much at home on the plains moving sheep or sitting around a campfire as it is out for drinks on the town - this timeless classic can be worn for any occasion.
Our Snowcrest Shirt Jacket - named after a mighty and remote range our free-ranging Merino Wool sheep graze each and every summer here in Montana - represents an heirloom quality Merino Wool fabric you will not find elsewhere. Dense yet soft, stylish yet functional, this 100% Merino Wool fabric goes above and beyond battling cold, rain, sleet and snow, a staple for our Montana ranchers through Mother Nature’s most brutal.
The Men's Snowcrest Shirt Jacket is highly regarded for its exceptional craftsmanship, quality, and versatile design. Customers praise its perfect fit, rich color, and well-placed pockets, making it a stylish and practical choice for various occasions.

Near perfection product
"Olive Green. This is by far a must have garment. The construction and craftsmanship are nearly down to perfection. The fit is true to size. Ordered in XL, I am 6-3, 190lbs, V-shape with broad shoulders. Fits me great with room for layers yet not baggy. The merino wool is very soft and comfortable. Wore the Snowcrest Shirt Jacket over a plain T-Short with 100% zero itching. The Olive Green color produces some vibrant hues on a sunny day. If you are on the fence about spending this much money, DONT!!! Pull the trigger, this is an investment into your future that will last a long time. I’m very happy with this purchase. I’d order 2 snowcrest Jack/Shirts if I could."

Solid
"I split time working as a biologist on the lakes of Maine and a handyman in northern Montana. Love Duckworth, my powder hoodie is pound for pound the best performing garment I own by miles. The snowcrest is great quality but performs poorly in heavy winds/deep cold even with layering. Best characteristic is its style/look but its a bit too expensive for that to be its #1 feature in my opinion (though i dont mind higher prices for quality and USA made overall). If style is your aim and youve got deep pockets, this is an awesome garment. If you wanna stay warm while battling through the elements get the powder hoody or wool cloud gear"

Snowcrest Shirt Jacket
"After seeing the one I bought for my son as a gift, I was so impressed I ordered one for myself."
— Richard R. (5/5)
Great quality and fit
"Impressed with the quality. I’m used to mackinaw wool and the weight of this is much lighter than expected. The craftsmanship is top notch. I prefer the fit to many other wool coats I own. For reference I am 5’9’’ and 195lbs and very happy with the way the Large fits. My only knock would be the price. I think this jac-shirt screams $4-500 when stacking up to the competitors."

So far so good
"Feels really nice not too heavy. Would recommend going up a size or two if you want to fit a hoodie underneath"
— Jay N. (5/5)
I think it is good
"I think it is good stuff but I was suppose to get 20%off coupon for sign up but the code they sent would not work a little misleading"
— Matthew S. (4/5)
Excellent quality
"Ordered a M and had to exchange for a large. Sizes seem small. Return process was quick and easy. Recommend buying the $2 return label. I love the shirt / jacket, quality design, fit and finish. Snaps always beat buttons! Hope it lasts a long time. Only downside is the price. Seems outrageous, but it is quality."
— Spencer J. (5/5)
A clean material/a bit thin for the price.
"TBH, I expected more in terms of durability and material density for the price. It seems thin. . . Other than that it seems to be equality garment."

"Outstanding quality & feel. Order one size larger for perfect fit."

Q&A
Hi Duckworth, Will you be making this in women's, eventually? Because I would get one.
Hi there, We've made a Women's Snowcrest Shirt in the past (it wasn't very popular, so we discontinued it), but never a shirt jacket. The Men's Snowcrest Shirt Jacket was a new product only as of last year and we're still gauging interest on the Men's product. So far, so good! We'll see how this year's drop goes and look to potentially emulate a product in the Women's line thereafter. You might try ordering a size you think would fit you well and see if that's a possibility? A lot of women have done that with our [Men's Powder Hoody](https://www.duckworthco.com/products/mens-powder-hoody). Hope you have a great day! -Team Duckworth
When will there be more of the L size? Can’t wait to buy one!
These are normally restocked once a year in the fall due to how much wool they use up. These are worth the wait!
Hi and Good Morning from NY, Westchester County. I am a Filson fan and have many of their clothing items and Duffles. I noticed that a lot of their items are not made in the USA anymore and their sizing has become hit or miss. I saw a review of your products on U-Tube (snowcrest). I have one in suede from Orvis but am hesitant of wearing it in the rain. It works on a nice day. A wool shirt jacket fits the bill for me and although the Duckworth is very pricy it's made in America and from the reviews it seems to be the best of the best. I'm always a fan of buying quality. I see you are mostly sold out, not surprised! Fortunately, I'm not in a hurry and am willing to wait for the Snowcrest. So, my question is about sizing. I read the reviews, and most are not specific enough for me to decide on a size. I'm 5' 10" tall. I weigh in at 196 lbs. I wear a size 44 to 46 blazer. My Orvis Suede Shirt jacket is a Large. What size do you suggest?
Thanks for your interest in Duckworth! I would say to go for the Large. If you want a bit more of an oversized feel, the XL might be a tad better.

These are snaps instead of buttons!
Could you please provide the dimensions for the various sizes? Shoulder, sleeve, etc?
